Hydrogen Fuel Cell Drone
Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) Partners with C3 Drones and Robotics
DMI signs an official contract with C3 Drones and Robotics to actively expand to the Australian market
Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) has partnered with an Australian company C3 Drones and Robotics for the distribution and development of UAV solutions in Australia and New Zealand. The official partnership was made in June this year with both parties expecting to expand the use of hydrogen fuel cell drone operations in Oceania.
C3 means command, control and communication, the full package required for remotely operated aircraft and robotics. At C3 Drones and Robotics we work directly with the biggest names in the RPAS and robotics industries, software developers, regulatory consultation teams and the world’s various Federal Aviation Authorities to deliver an off-the-shelf package for remote operations.
Doosan Mobility Innovation is focusing on the mobile application of hydrogen fuel cell technology, which is projected to provide diverse industrial solutions and contribute to public safety with green technology. DMI’s hydrogen fuel cell multi-copter can fly for up to 2 hours, with its remote vertical take-off and landing system. DMI has conducted long-range delivery flights with 72km as the longest record in the US Virgin Islands with blood sample delivery done with the Department of Health.
With such long-endurance hydrogen fuel cell drones, DMI and C3 Drones and Robotics will be able to expand the usage of not only drones but also hydrogen in Australia and New Zealand.
Advantages of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Drones
Hydrogen can overcome the power limits of standard lithium-ion batteries, enabling drones’ longer endurance. It is expected that the growing demand for special-purpose hydrogen drones in use cases such as surveillance and survey of long linear assets will proliferate the technology.
Advantages of the Doosan hydrogen fuel cell drone include:-
- 2 hours plus of flight time
- Long range allowing for new unthought-of use cases
- Safe systems and easy hydrogen supply solutions
- BVLOS capable with autonomous flight
